- 1 pound fresh crab meat (preferably lump)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or panko)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- Prepare the crab meat by draining and patting it dry.
- In one bowl, mix breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the egg.
- Lightly coat each piece of crab meat with flour, dip in the egg wash, then press into the breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the crab pieces in batches for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce.
